Chinese Chef in Soutd Sioux City

This is sort of the go to Chinese restaurant in the Sioux City area. I grew up with this restaurant. It's pretty good. Having tried other places, in comparison there are things Chinese Chef is very good at doing. Some items other places do far better with. It's really your preference. I always order the chicken fried rice. You can't really mess that one up. Other places don't compare in this area, in my opinion. The general chicken is ok. I've asked for extra spicy but never really had any luck with it actually being spicy. I just add the hot sauce if this happens. Not a big deal

Good food and fast service. Their beef and broccoli is awesome and the eggs rolls are the best in sioux city.

Can't handle busy, either new staff, burnt egg rolls, waited long time for drinks, actually food got there before drinks, served our order to another customer and that customer put her fork in food told them not what she ordered, then brought that same order to us.. not good.

Usually like coming here The food is normally good But I thought I would leave a review Because I've noticed the few times there's something wrong with my order They make me feel like I'm hassling them and make me feel like it's my fault This last time I ordered a meal fo two which includes 6 crab ragoon the Cream cheese inside was Clearly spoiled tasted awful inedible. When I called to see if they could simply replace them they Kept handing the phone back-and-forth until I got the owner on the phone She again insinuated something was wrong with me and my taste buds And that there was no way the cream cheese was spoiled And proceeded to tell me there was nothing she could do about it Customer service is horrible!!!

Still scratch my head about the popularity of this place. Only things worth eating are the fried dumblings, rangoons etc. Basically the stuff that is store bought and frozen. Rest of the menu I have had has been poor tasting. The one on Floyd is even worse. Avoid.

A basic family-friendly, order at the counter Chinese restaurant. The food is quick and of average quality. High chairs are available and it is wheelchair accessible, although the corners are right once one enters the restaurant. I had the Kung Pao chicken. Although it's considered a spicy item, the dried peppers weren't hot at all and would bend rather than break in half. Disappointing, but not enough to reduce the experience. On the other hand, the crab rangoon was awesome. I will be returning.

Best chinese food in town. Always cooked fresh to order. Food comes out hot and the quality and quantity are well worth the affordable menu prices. The second location in Sioux city is just as fresh and amazing but she puts her own twist on some of the dishes that are amazing and delicious. I bring anyone from out of town to these restaurants and it's always a great turn out.

Very good but I think too expensive

Used to come here all the time for good Chinese food before we moved away. It's a lesser known restaurant when it comes to looking for Chinese options in Sioux City, likely because it's in South Sioux. If you haven't tried it I would definitely recommend giving it a shot. Prices are good and the service is fast and courteous. Portions are also pretty generous.

If the closing time is 10pm they should serve food til 10pm. I called at 936pm and was asked if they could put me on hold. The whole time I was on hold I could here them whispering and giggling in the background.food is good .workers not so much .if your going to stop taking orders way before 10pm change the closing time.

I ordered 5 items, General Tso’s chicken(flavorless,watery, mushy) Lo Mein (literally no flavor at all), egg drop soup (okay but extremely watery and had chunks of chicken), hot and sour soup (Tasted absolutely terrible) and crab rangoons (these were actually very GOOD) overall I was extremely disappointed

This is my dad's favorite place to come he loves this place he always gets the shrimp dinner well there was about six of us that went I had General tile my daughter had General tile my son-in-law had beef and broccoli which was absolutely delicious but the General Tao that I had was way different than what I was used to I live in Minneapolis so when I go to my favorite places to eat my Chinese food always get General Tao and it's way different The Taste is sweet and here it was very dull I did not care for it at all but they do have some good foods on the menu I just wasn't used to it they have a sitting area very polite they come to the table or you can take it to go it doesn't matter but my dad really likes his place I gave thim a lower score cuz I didn't think my general tao but they do have other things on the menu that were were delicious for sure place to go you can take the kids I definitely go back with him but I'll get to beef and broccoli next time LOL

These people just do what they want and charge crazy prices

they gave and charged me 2 extra sides that i did not ask for. i asked for noodles instead of rice with my orange chicken. when i got home i saw i got rice with my orange chicken, noodles and vegetable rice. i am SUPER disappointed🤦‍♀️

Good chinese food!

We love the food. However we notice recently the price has been increasing and $100 for 4 meals is a bit more then we are willing to pay.

OMG!!! If have NEVER left a one star review on a chinese restaurant, but DAYUM this food was nasty! Seriously!!!! How did this restaurant get 4 stars average? Have people in this city never eaten real Chinese food?The general chicken tasted like Tyson anytizers, butflavorless ones. The rice looked like Mexican rice but tasted like nothing and the beef and broccoli tasted like liver and onions. Please save your money and go to taco Bell or taco John's or any other restaurant. Seriously anything!!!!Now for the plus side. I got a good fortune in my cookie.

It was ok. Went for Saturday’s lunch and sesame chicken was brown and mushy fried rather than nice and crispy. Not sure if all white meat. Fried Rice also sub par and lacking. Probably won’t be back. Threw away the leftovers.

Even after living in Seattle since 2012, they are still the best Chinese food that I've ever had. I make it a point to eat there at least once or twice every time I am in Iowa. (specifically the SSC location)

I love the peanut butter chicken and dumplings!

Honestly, I used to love coming here! But then they eventually got rude employees and don't even listen to what you say. Everytime I go in I feel unwelcome there, especially when they are half hour away from closing. I wouldn't recommend coming here, I can go to the other location and get better respect then I do here. Hopefully you guys can get better, nice, and caring employees!

In my opinion best Chinese food in Siouxland.

An order at the counter, sit down or take out Chinese restaurant. The staff were very friendly. I found the restaurant to be clean & the mini chandeliers add some class to an otherwise typical family restaurant. I enjoyed the Orange Chicken & recommend that you try your favorite Chinese dish at Chinese Chef.
